I love the colors and the contrast but I think that there is too many darkness in the sky. and paradoxically, the sun ray isn't enough visible. I would have add clarity in the sky because it works so well for clouds furthermore that I think that the clouds as they are in this picture are too inconsistent... obviously it's my point of view, the picture is great anyway just not perfect for me. but the set remains awesome.

That's not a problem - the sky is dark because of the contrast between light and dark. Clouds always look dark and ominous when light runs by it because it gives the sky a silhouette effect- the light is directed downward and to the right, but not at the sky. I would definitely like it to be brighter too, but it will start to fall apart in quality and color casting will become apparent (I do use the clarity effect in lightroom). Believe me when I say, it is not easy to balance a photo with so much light up against so much dark, so there are always going to be tradoffs. :)

...also, maybe your monitor is calibrated too dark... ;)

I think he is talking about the fact that the image is almost black at the top left corner and along the top edge. It indeed looks a bit too dark to be natural. That being said, it does look good here in my eyes  so I would leave it as is. You did a great job with the lighting on the beach and especially on the forest. I dig this one. :)

Thanks - yeah that tends to the downside of using dark grad filters - they are very dark at the top and the lens is round so it crops out the outside edges leaving the corners dark. I just had a panoramic version printed at 12x36 and it's pretty awesome. I did it in pearl satin so the sand and shimmers but without any glare. I'm going to go back to this area soon here, but it will be very different with the big winter. The beach will no longer be there because the lake as risen about 7ft.

You're welcome. I'm looking forward to see how different it will look. I'm not used to lakes changing their level so much in just one year - actually it's the first time I'm hearing about it. It makes sense though, having an alpine lake without an outlet. Just shows that I have no experience regarding this.

Actually we have the Truckee river as an outlet, which flows through Truckee, Reno, and then eventually into Pyramid Lake. We cannot open the dam any more and now the river is now flooding and may even start running over a major interstate highway. We are supposed to get more snow today. :) Anyways, how's the weather in Germany?
eegariM Featured By Owner May 6, 2017
Oh. Why can't you open the dam? Too much water?

The weather in germany is the same as it has been for the past 3 month: anywhere between 0 to 10 °C with occasional dips below 0 °C during nights. Well, except for a few days in the end of march where we had 25 °C. It seems so wrong. This winter will never end. During the last tourney las weekend we had -4 °C during the night (we were camping) and our wet clothes were completely frozen. I would send you pictures via PM but for some reason I'm not able to move my pictures from the virtual machine on my pc. It's quite disgusting to wear frozen neoprene shoes early in the morning. :D
